WHY IS THIS HAPPENING ?

As you know, I am a fan of Neale Donald Walsch's books.
http://www.nealedonaldwalsch.com/
In one of his daily emails, he says that "Why is this happening?" is the most useless question in the Universe.
Instead, a good question is:  What?  As in "what do I choose now?"

Next time your first re-action to an event is "Why" ............ change your response to "What" ......... as in "what do I choose now."

FEAR

"Fear is one of the Main Sources of Cruelty.   To conquer Fear is the Beginning of Wisdom"
Bertrand Russell said that.

I have a question for you: What is the first thing that comes to mind when you say the word 'fear'?
I invite you to click on comment and write about it.

CLIMATE CHANGE

I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy.
What a source of power!
I hope we don't have to wait 'til oil and coal run out before we tackle that.

No, not my words.  They are the words of Thomas Edison who lived from 1847 until 1931.

Here we are in 2009 ...... 78 years after Thomas Edison.

Do you think we are finally getting serious about climate change?

LEARNING SOMETHING NEW

Today I was thinking of my early experience as a reader of blogs.

When I visited my friend's blog the first time, I read each Post and went on my way.
It took a long time for me to understand how to write a comment.
And even longer to figure out how to become a Follower.
Add a photo to the Follower list?  Oh, no!  I was a silhouette for eons.

Are you new to the Blogosphere?  Are you wondering how to leave a comment?  Would you like to become a Follower?

Even though I am new to this world of blogging, I am going to share with you what I've learned so far.

At the end of each Post, there is a word in rather small letters .... comment.
If you click on comment, you can read what others have said or you can post your own comment.
Just type in the box what you wish to say.  You can type as much as you want.
Then click "select profile".  If you have an account with one of the places on the list -- select that one.  If not, select anonymous.  If you select anonymous, go to your message and add your name. If you're shy, you can remain anonymous.
You may wish to click "preview' to review what you have written in the event that you want to edit.
When you are happy with your comments, click "post comment".
Sometimes you will be told that it didn't go through and you will be asked to click "post comment" again.  I don't know why --- just do it.
Ok, so now you know how to leave a comment.

Here's some more information.

On the left side of the page, there is a poll.  I would be interested in your answers.  You can click on the results of the poll to read what others have entered.

You are able to click on My Favorite Links and peruse the websites.
You are also able to click on My Blog List and read those blogs, if you choose.

I invite you to become a Follower.  Just double click on the Follower Button.
A screen will appear with instructions.  If you have any questions,  just go to comments at the end of this post and post your questions. I will do my best to get answers for you.

If you are a computer/blogger expert,  I welcome your input!

"When Everything Changes, Change Everything"

For all my readers who are within driving distance of Smithfield RI, I am extending an invitation to you.

In the past I have helped facilitate book discussion groups.  They are fun and informative.

Recently a new book by Neale Donald Walsch was published.  The title is "When Everything Changes, Change Everything".

Babs and I liked the book so much that we are planning to facilitate a book discussion group to discuss this book.

The group will meet on Thursday October 1, 2009 at 6:30pm and will continue to meet for 6 weeks.

We are meeting at East Smithfield Library
                               50 Esmond St.
                               Smithfield,  RI
Best of all, it is open to the public and it is FREE.

So if you would like to join us, all you have to do is pick up a copy of  "When Everything Changes, Change Everything" at your public library or your favorite bookstore.

We will be discussing the first 4 chapters on the first evening.  I think you  will enjoy interacting with a group of interesting people.

You may sign up for the group in the comments section of this blog or just show up on Thursday October first.  I look forward to seeing you!

WHAT IS REIKI?

The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words: Rei which means Universal or Higher Power.  And Ki which means Life Force Energy.
So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy".
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion.  There is nothing that you must believe in order to receive or learn Reiki.
It is a "hands on" technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing.  Reiki treats the whole person on four levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.  It goes where ever the person needs it and Reiki can do no harm.  How great is that!
This is a brief explanation of Reiki.  If you have any questions, please go to the comment button at the end of this blog posting and write your question.
I will be happy to answer.

NO REGRETS

I have been encouraged to start my own blog ....... maybe because I have an opinion about almost everything.
So here we are!

But the truth is I'd LOVE to hear your opinions.
Yes, YOU!

One of the blogs that I follow is
 http://www.rhodetofitness.blogspot.com/

In one entry, a question was posed: "Would we live our lives any differently if we knew precisely how much time we had?"

Here's my opinion.  The question is interesting.  I ask it of myself on a regular basis.  It keeps me balanced.  In my experience, making decisions based on "I don't want to have any regrets" is helpful.  The answers then come without much effort ---- usually.

One of my goals is to INSPIRE you to think about some of the ideas presented here and share your thoughts and opinions with others.
An inter-active blog ---- that's my goal.

What's your opinion of the question: Would you live your life any differently if you knew precisely how much time you have?"
